Presenting the twelfth edition of the Festival LES COUPS DE THÉÂTRE !

Rémi Boucher, Founder and Artistic Director, announces the 12^th edition of LES COUPS DE THÉÂTRE / Festival International des arts jeune public from November 12-25, 2012.

A unique and highly anticipated event, the Festival LES COUPS DE THÉÂTRE will present productions from Norway, France, the Netherlands, Mexico, Belgium, Spain, Canada and Quebec.

First off, France will be honoured throughout the next edition of the Festival. In addition to welcoming new groups of artists who will present their creations for the first time in America, the Festival LES COUPS DE THÉÂTRE will mark the return of companies that have shaped the imagination of Quebec’s young spectators and over time have become a reference for the new generation of creators.

Other highlights presented by the Festival LES COUPS DE THÉÂTRE will be Focus Québec on November 14^th, 15^th and 16^th, 2012, an unprecedented event in collaboration with Maison Théâtre, L’Arrière Scène, Centre dramatique pour l’enfance et la jeunesse en Montérégie  and Les Gros Becs from Quebec City. A new initiative for foreign broadcasters and residents of Quebec during the Festival.

Founded in 1990, the Festival LES COUPS DE THÉÂTRE reflects the abundance of new creations for young audiences nationally and internationally. The event opens a window to young Quebecers that is unique to the world, by bringing together the best creators and artists for children and youth. In total, more than thirty productions for young audiences will be in theaters in November 2012 to the delight of young viewers and their families.

The Festival LES COUPS DE THÉÂTRE will be held in several theaters in Montreal including: l’Usine C, Place des Arts, les Maisons de la culture du Plateau Mont-Royal et Frontenac, Les Écuries and Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec.
