JUSQU’AU SANG OU PRESQUE

THEATRE | World premiere
In a style that combines elements of a twisted fairy tale, a course in natural history and a sci-fi B movie, 16-year-old Mathias introduces us to his evil step-mother Adèle, a woman with no children of her own who prefers to appropriate other people’s.
Based on the stories of two other children (3-year-old Little Boy and 11-year-old Big Girl), Mathias reveals this horrible woman’s modus operandi, describing how she worms her way into other people’s families, stealing fathers and traumatizing children with her extremely bizarre behaviour.
But the more Mathias explains why children should fear and reject Adèle, the more endearing she becomes. In order to tell this story about persistent prejudices, deceptively monstrous appearances and how family photos are reinterpreted, modified and reconstituted, Théâtre I.N.K. has created a set that is a veritable physical playground. An odd assortment of picture frames hanging in mid-air lets the performers give free rein to their imaginations.
