This 9th edition of the Festival Les Coups de Théâtre is a celebration of all the fields in the performing arts, including seven Québec premieres!

This year Les Coups de Théâtre is presenting five dance productions developed especially for young audiences. Hélène Blackburn and Cas Public open the Festival with their new creation Journal intime. This focus on dance illustrates the dynamic development, over the last several years, of new works for young audiences.

Theatre productions remain the foundation of the programming. Highlights include the return to Montréal of Christian Duchange with his company L’ Artifice; the most recent creation by Wajdi Mouawad and Benoît Vermeulen, and the realisation of a very dear dream of Les Coups de Théâtre, the creation of Les Petits Urbains by Yvan Bienvenue and his theatre company Urbi et Orbi.
 
This is a unique artistic event for young audiences in Canada; hundreds of Québec and Canadian theatre professionals and international producers designate, every two years, the Festival Les Coups de Théâtre as a must for its importance as a vehicle for professionals and a catalyst for the development of new audiences.
